Clean water changes lives

With our W4L filtration system, we enable children and communities in developing countries to access pure drinking water – safe, sustainable, and independent of existing infrastructure.

Contaminated water is life-threatening – especially for children. Clean water is the foundation for health, education, and the future.

Concrete impact on the ground

−80 %

Feedback from schools using our devices shows an impressive impact: illness-related student absences have been reduced by an average of 80 %! This changes life paths for entire families.

Why we act

Bleak future due to contaminated water

In many regions of the world, access to clean drinking water is not a given. Contaminated water often leads to severe illnesses. What begins with diarrhea can quickly become life-threatening, especially for children. Lack of water supply means not only health risks but also lost educational opportunities and poverty passed down through generations.

Clean water also protects the environment

In many places, water is boiled to kill bacteria and germs, and wood is used for this. The result is uncontrolled deforestation, which degrades soil quality and further lowers the groundwater level.
Our filtration system makes boiling unnecessary and thus protects forests and natural water resources. It also saves the money otherwise spent on buying firewood.

The consequences of contaminated water

  • High illness and mortality rates among children
  • Frequent absences from school
  • High absence rates for families and communities

Our response

We are a private initiative that has developed solutions for the problems described. The W4L “Water for Life” devices are our contribution: a robust, efficient filtration system adapted to local conditions.

Technology

The W4L filtration systems – innovative, robust, life-changing

The W4L devices were developed specifically for use in challenging environments. They operate independently of complex infrastructure and reliably provide clean drinking water for schools, communities, and institutions.

Ultrafiltration – separation limit 0.02 µm

Removes bacteria, germs, viruses, and particles. Only dissolved substances such as salt and nitrate remain in the water – sufficient for most surface and groundwater sources.

Patented filtration technology

Cleaning is carried out by modern ultrafiltration, which offers high safety with low maintenance requirements.

Triple rinsing system

The filter is cleaned by an integrated triple rinsing system controlled by valves. This means very simple operation and a long service life for the filter.

Manual or electric

Basic operation is via hand pumps. When electricity is available, an external electric pump can be used.

Durable & efficient

The filter can be used for many years and replaced if necessary.

KESHE plasma technology

In addition, integrated KESHE plasma technology is used to vitalize and energetically enrich the water.

High capacity

In manual operation, around 600 liters per hour can be treated; with an electric pump, around 1000 liters per hour – depending on the quality of the raw water.

New generation: fully automatic system

In cooperation with HTL Vöcklabruck, a fully automatic version was developed that achieves double the capacity. This closed, compact mobile unit is particularly suitable for larger communities and institutions, such as hospitals. An integrated hand pump enables emergency operation with reduced capacity in the event of a power failure.

Project example

Deployment in Uganda – 13 devices, countless opportunities

An important milestone was the delivery of 13 W4L devices to Uganda. The devices were fully sponsored by the company HILTI from Liechtenstein and implemented by GAIA-Africa, a partner organization.

Distribution and operation

  • Installation at larger schools to optimally utilize capacity
  • Operation and supervision by a local team on site
  • Sustainable use through training and ongoing support
Get involved

Your support brings water – and hope

Our private team works on a voluntary basis. We can only finance new W4L devices with the help of sponsors. Every contribution – whether from companies or private individuals – helps to provide more schools and communities with access to clean drinking water.

How you can contribute

  • Sponsorship of one or more devices
  • Partial funding (materials, transport, connections)
  • Partnership for a project on site
  • Private donations for individual projects

Why your contribution matters

Behind every filtration system are real lives: children who stay healthy, can attend school, and gain a real future perspective. Clean water is more than a resource – it is a foundation of life.
